Members of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity will run over 220 miles to deliver a football from the steps of Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska to Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kansas. The UNL fraternity is making the run to raise funds for the TeamMates Mentoring Program. The fraternity has set a goal to raise $10,000 to support new mentor matches.
The football run will kick-off on Thursday, November 12th at 1:00 p.m. outside the north stadium. UNL Athletic Director Tom Osborne will hand off the football to the first Lambda Chi Alpha runner.
“We are very grateful to Lamda Chi for their amazing support of TeamMates. This is the third year they have run the football to Kansas and we appreciate their willingness to give back to the community,” said Suzanne Hince, Executive Director of the TeamMates Mentoring Program.
$50 will support each mile the fraternity runs. Donations can be tracked by following the progress of the football to Kansas via the TeamMates website at teammates.org/news/. To pledge support to the football run or become a mentor call 1-877-531-8326 or visit teammates.org.
